Off we go! Yes, I feel a little nervous heading off into the unknown. This is the longest road trip I have ever taken, and I'm doing it on a motorcycle! Still, I'm looking forward to meeting a ton of new people along the way and finding out how money and debt affects them, not in some abstract way, but how it really affects their day to day life. Are people happy? Are people stressed? Are people blissfully unaware of the consequences of their spending habits? We shall see ...
As I cross West Virginia, one thing becomes certain, I'm going to get to see a lot of beautiful countryside. The Appalachians are stunning.
Stopped at a small town called Romney, where a group of dedicated volunteers were unloading food donated by good souls all over the country and distributed by the food bank. Clearly people are hurting in this economy, but, as ever, others rise to the challenge to help out. Very inspiring.
