WET, WET, WET! That's the story of today. Woke up to rain and have been riding through it all day. What a wash out. In the interest of personal safety, I decided to stay off the back roads today and stick to the freeways. That means I won't get to see as many people, but at least I should make up some mileage.
Turns out the day is not a total waste. I got to meet a couple of interesting folks at a gas station in Frametown, West Virginia who have been feeling the pinch since the coal mines shut down over 20 years ago, but they still manage to keep smiles on their faces and do whatever it takes to get by. The human spirit is a marvelous thing.
Here's hoping for better weather tomorrow.
