Lexington, KY to Chatanooga, TN
267.2 miles
Not such a great start to the day. Woke up to another wet, gloomy, extremely foggy morning, so I had little choice but to stick to the Interstate and try and get out from this band of rain that seems to be following our route yesterday and today. I also have to get as far south as possible as quickly as possible because there is a cold front blowing through on Friday and I don't feel like riding in sub-freezing temperatures.
However, the day turns out to be much better than expected as, having stopped for lunch at a familiar roadside restaurant in Lake City, TN (just north of Knoxville), the manager kindly gave us permission to film outside. Got two great interviews with some really interesting and friendly people. I learned a great deal from speaking to these folks and a picture is slowly beginning to form about how money affects people's lives. I'll keep my theory to myself for a few days and see if it holds up as I get further along the route.
Ended the day in Chatanooga, on the Tennessee/Alabama border, tired but in good spirits. Tomorrow is another day, hopefully one without any rain!
